DICA has announced a brand name change of its acquired Linton Rigging Gear line of products to “LiftGuard Magnetic Sling Protectors.” LiftGuard joined the DICA family of engineered products following the company’s acquisition of Linton Rigging Gear earlier this year.
LiftGuard Sling Protectors prevent damage to slings caused by contact with abrasive edges, corners or protrusions from loads being lifted. They also keep the sling away from other significant contact points during lifting operations. Medium Duty, Heavy Duty and Coil Edge Protectors have magnets installed to make the placement of these edge protectors simple, safe and efficient. As a bonus, LiftGuard protectors weigh one-seventh the weight of steel. They are available with optional Velcro straps to ensure proper sling placement, allowing the protectors to stay attached to the slings when removing them from loads placed at higher elevations.
When using synthetic web slings, the capacity of Medium and Heavy Duty LiftGuard Edge Protectors is calculated at 12,500 psi/1 inch of sling width per protector. When using synthetic round slings, wire rope slings or chain slings, LiftGuard product capacities are 12,500 psi of compressive strength per protector.

The patent-pending Direct Embed Pole Stabilization (DEPS) system from LineWise is a new bracing system for holding concrete or steel poles in place while pouring concrete or FlowFill. This cost-effective solution offers a quick and easy setup that significantly reduces equipment and labor costs, in addition to other benefits, during the installation of direct embed poles.
The DEPS system consists of two adjustable pole braces for each pole that is being stabilized. The pole braces are first chained or strapped to the base section of a pole. Then, the anchor plates are staked into the ground, and the pole is then plumbed by simply extending or retracting the braces. The entire process can be completed in several minutes.
Compared to the traditional alternatives of using forklifts, telehandlers or dead-man concrete anchors to support poles during construction, the DEPS system eliminates the cost of equipment rentals, machine maintenance, fuel and other various tools. The system also offers a lower environmental footprint, as it helps cut job-site emissions and results in fewer ruts created on rights-of-way due to less vehicle and equipment traffic.
Fully contracted, the DEPS system is 7.5 feet in length, allowing it to be transported in a pickup bed or on a gooseneck trailer. It requires no routine maintenance, provides a long service life and is made of 100% recyclable material.

The Voyager VBSD3 Blind Spot Detection System is designed to increase driver awareness by bringing familiar automotive industry technology to the commercial vehicle environment. The newest addition to Voyager’s line of sensor safety systems uses radar technology to detect vehicles and other obstructions in the blind zone of the vehicle as well as rear cross traffic.
When an object is detected in the blind zone, the driver will be alerted by an LED light beacon installed in the cab. In addition to this visual warning, an audible warning will sound if an object is detected in the blind zone while the turn signal is on. The Rear Cross Traffic Alert System will issue these same warnings when the vehicle is in reverse.

DICA has debuted a new addition to the ProStack Cribbing product line. ProStack Slot Lock Cribbing Blocks are engineered to stack and lock together, giving users the ability to safely gain needed cribbing height in unlevel conditions. Developed with customer input, the new lighter-weight and lower-cost ProStack product is designed for use with the types of equipment used in utility, tree care, concrete construction, and crane and rigging markets.
The setup of a SafetyTech Base Pad and two ProStack Blocks has a 100,000-pound working load limit and a maximum allowable pressure of 500 psi. Slot Lock flanges interlock with a DICA SafetyTech base pad and with each subsequent block layer when positioned in alternating directions. Each layer increases cribbing height by 5 inches, and the surface allows room for outrigger feet measuring up to 18 inches by 18 inches.
Each ProStack Slot Lock block weighs less than 30 pounds, which minimizes operator fatigue and provides quick setup and breakdown times. Molded grips make it easy for one person to carry and position blocks, even when wearing gloves. TuffGrip handles can be added as an option to facilitate carrying two blocks at once. The four ultrasonic, weatherproof sensors are easy to install and can be painted to match the color of the vehicle, making them a universal solution for aftermarket application.
The CVPS18 sensors are designed to detect objects within a 5-foot range of the rear bumper without requiring any calibration to aid in backing up or parking the vehicle. When the vehicle is in reverse, the sensors will trigger a speaker in the cab to emit an audible alert if an object should happen to get too close.
As the vehicle continues to back up, or as the object moves closer, the beeping will become more frequent. If the object comes within 16 inches of the bumper, a solid tone will sound. The audio speaker has three volume levels – low, high and off – to suit driver preferences.
