Mobile Access Kit

Atlas Devices technologies enable professionals in specialized, high-risk occupations to work higher, faster and safer. With over a decade of innovation in military systems helping warfighters reach previously unobtainable heights, Atlas is now focusing on the utility industry to help lineworkers complete jobs faster, meet OSHA compliance, and increase rescue capability while reducing significant cost and risk.

Atlas has recently developed a powerful multi-mission solution, the Mobile Access Kit, which can replicate the functions normally provided by a bucket truck or helicopter in a self-contained package that fits on an ATV. With the included high-powered line launcher, rope kit and personnel-rated APA-5-U Atlas Powered Ascender, crews can quickly access heights over 150 feet and directly haul loads up to 600 pounds.

Line crews can use the pneumatic REBS Launcher to deliver a projectile over a transmission tower with a high-tension line in tow. They can then pull up full-size ropes and rig them to the bottom of the tower, enabling a 100 percent attached first man up in minutes. The APA-5-U ascender attaches to the rope and clips to a harness or load. An operator uses the variable speed trigger to ascend to the top of the tower or live transmission line in seconds. The APA-5-U can perform pick-off rescues, and with a wireless remote, haul equipment and use pulleys to tension conductors.

With a growing number of utilities using parts of the Mobile Access Kit, Atlas Devices is excited to now offer a full system solution that can enable crews to complete jobs more efficiently than ever.
