Youngstown Glove is proud to introduce a full line of Arc Rated Leather Protectors. We use the highest-quality grain leather along with an innovative pattern to create a leather protector with unmatched fit, dexterity and quality. The ergonomic, 3D pattern fits perfectly over rubber-insulating gloves, so you can do your work more easily. The High Voltage models use a thick, tacky and flexible cow grain while our Low Voltage Protectors feature a thin, tacky and flexible goat-grain leather. Each model features an FR Strap System to ensure that nothing on the glove will drip, melt or ignite if exposed to an arc flash. These gloves are available in 10-inch, 12-inch, 13-inch and 14-inch sizes. Each model also is available in a cut-resistant, Kevlar-lined version, where every inch of the glove is lined with Kevlar fiber by DuPont. The glove shown here is our 10-inch leather protector lined with Kevlar. This protector is arc rated to 36 cal and offers Cut Level A3 and Puncture Level 4 protection.

Radians, a global leader and manufacturer of personal protective equipment, recently launched five new RadWear vests with high-visibility features and black styling.
Radians’ new selection hides dirt and grime in areas that commonly show signs of soiling. Traditionally, high-visibility safety gear is made completely with fluorescent materials that enhance the view of the worker at a distance. These conventional styles also hold dirt and stains, diminishing the fluorescence and the time in service.
The five new RadWear styles are the SV6B-2, a Type R, Class 2, two-tone surveyor vest; the SV22-1ZBM, a Type O, Class 1, economy two-tone vest; the SV55-1ZBD, a Type O, Class 1, two-tone engineer vest; the SV59-1ZBM, a Type O, Class 1, heavy-duty surveyor vest; and the SV59B-2, a Type R, Class 2, heavy-duty surveyor vest.

Cementex, a national leader in the manufacture of electrical safety solutions, recently announced the availability of its PPE storage canisters, which provide ultimate protection for arc flash suits with hoods or face shields, thanks to the canisters’ oversized 14-inch diameter.
These extra-large, ultra-durable, hard-sided arc flash storage canisters are designed to withstand the harshest environments and safely store technicians’ most delicate and valuable PPE items. At 14 inches in diameter and 16 inches tall, the canister’s extra-large dimensions enable storage of large PPE items, such as a complete Category 4 arc flash PPE kit with a ventilated hood.
The canisters also feature a stackable design for easy, orderly storage in shops and equipment rooms. Their seal-tight lids ensure secure, reliable closure, and durable rope handles include a comfort grip for easy transport.
Cementex PPE storage canisters are available separately or as an upgrade to most Cementex PPE task wear kits. Additionally, the canisters are available with a fixed, 12-pocket tool wrap to include all of a technician’s most critical tools along with their task wear.
The new VolCore FR Workwear by Radians helps protect workers from short-term thermal incidents, including arc flash and flash fire, because it self-extinguishes and does not melt when exposed to flame, dramatically reducing the severity of burn injuries.

MAXBLUE lens technology blocks 41 percent of ISO 12312-1 blue light, yet it allows 88 percent of visible light to pass through.
There are many jobs that demand the use of hand-held devices, RF scanners or other portable devices. All of these devices emit blue light, which has been known to cause eye fatigue, headaches and migraines. Many of these jobs also are indoors and, until recently, a wearer that needed to block a good portion of blue light had to resort to amber lenses. The downside of amber lenses, other than the yellow shade, is that they distort color recognition. With MAXBLUE lens technology, a worker can wear a clear lens that has a very faint mirror hue, while still blocking 41 percent of blue light. Other features of these lenses include an athletic-inspired design; a streamlined three-point ratcheting temple; comfortable TPR nosepieces; and hybrid temple.
